PRINCE RUPERT – The Prince Rupert and District Chamber of Commerce enthusiastically welcomes today’s final investment decision by AltaGas on its Ridley Island Propane Export Terminal. (Full Media Release: AltaGas Announces Positive FID on Canada’s First West Coast Propane Export Terminal)

The $450-500 million investment on Ridley Island offers further diversification of regional export products, providing increased economic stability for the region in the face of fluctuating global commodity markets. It is estimated that the project will provide up to 250 construction jobs and 40-50 long term positions during operation of the facility.

“This is an exciting decision for the community and a great start to 2017,” says Chamber President Keith Lambourne. “We welcome the employment opportunities for residents and contracting opportunities for local businesses provided by the construction and operation of the AltaGas Ridley Island Propane Export Terminal.”
